Objective:  

To support the diffusion, development, and evidence-building of innovative adaptation practices, tools, and technologies in developing countries.

1. An understanding of ISGAP’s approach to resilience and its collaborative efforts in knowledge management.
2. Areas of partnership and coordination identified with other projects within ISGAP, UNDP, and the Resilience Knowledge Coalition (GRP, ICCCAD, and CDKN)
3. How to tell a story and what is required to do it well (What you can use your story for)

ICCCAD Involvement in the project:

The International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD) is one of the leading research and capacity-building organizations that is working on climate change and development working from Bangladesh to global. ICCCAD’s experience in the locally led Adaptation (LLA) will play a pivotal role in this project. ICCCAD team supports by providing access to trusted knowledge from experts in climate change adaptation, bringing together innovative solutions, sharing knowledge platform creation, and collaborative learning on how to invest in resilience for development.

ICCCAD supports the ISGAP project in two way one is knowledge platform creation like different workshops in Gobeshona Global Conference and other knowledge-sharing information. ICCCAD has a monthly magazine called “Climate Tribune” where every month articles and stories are published regarding climate change. This year’s September 2023 issue is going to be a special issue as the stories of grantees will be published from the ISGAP project. The knowledge product will be disseminated through ICCCAD’s website, different networks, and social platforms.

Partnership:

All the partners are providing a shared function and knowledge management focusing on enabling the exchange of knowledge and further opportunities for exchange and communication amongst grantees. The ISGAP grantees on both local and global levels lessons are learned from documenting and disseminating.

1. Global Resilience Platform (GRP)- GRP practices the best knowledge and resilience to shape policies, investments, and plans to deliver a resilient future. Through the following framework of GRP, the monitoring of ISGAP project activities will be concluded. The partnership will help the grantees gain benefits from the grantees to gain knowledge from global experts in climate change adaptation and access to knowledge-sharing platforms.
2. Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN)– is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for the most vulnerable communities in the global south who are impacted by climate change. It provides knowledge arrangement and capacity-strengthening support to ISGAP grantees.

Timeline of the project:

ISGAP project is divided into a time frame from July 2022 to December 2024. Some projects are ongoing along with other activities that will be conducted within this timeframe. A detailed work plan will help us to navigate and initiate the activities. These activities are developed by GRP and ICCCAD teams. Activities such as conducting several workshops to promote peer learning and disseminate resilience knowledge, resilience program design, and training to allow the grantees and climate tribune where the grantees can express their story and experience as an opportunity. The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) is providing small grant funding to local actors to scale up their innovative projects that promote sustainable development, stability, and peace.

Events:

• An inception workshop for grantees- it was conducted last year where a session was on storytelling “How their ideas contribute to climate resilience in their community and how can the grantees collaborate with other grantees or with the networks of the members of the coalition.”
• Global Resilience Hub- The session was conducted on 10^th October 2023 under the South Asia Regional Resilience Hub. The title of this session was “When Risk Emerge, Innovative Solutions Come into Place, the Stories of Local Champions in Nepal, India, and Bangladesh” of UNDP, AFCIA/ISGAP.
• The Global ISGAP Workshop 2023 is going to be held from 17^th –19^th October 2023 in Manila, The Philippines; with virtual attendance. The main objective of this workshop is to introduce to the partners who have been working on this project, building partnerships for future development and prospects. A peer-to-peer learning opportunity to share and enhance knowledge from different people from different backgrounds and stakeholders. This also will be a cross-learning opportunity for both grantees and individuals present in the workshop. There also will be various learning sessions throughout the workshop focusing on impact and business development, funding and innovations and other crucial agenda.
