Gender Analyst
Jannat Ara Shifa has been working since May 2024 at the International Center for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD) as a Gender Analyst. She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Women and Gender Studies from the University of Dhaka. Her research interests encompass indigenous rights, women’s empowerment, masculinities, climate change and development, and gender inequalities.
She previously worked as a research associate at CMMS, where she developed a manual on gender-based violence, with a specific focus on marital rape, funded by Share-Net International. She also contributed to the World Bank-funded Sustainable Enterprise Project.
Currently, her work centers on climate adaptive agriculture, emphasizing locally-led adaptation and capacity building initiatives.
