Gender Analyst

Jannat Ara Shifa has been working since May 2024 at the International Center for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD) as a Gender Analyst under PARIBARTAN Project. She holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Women and Gender Studies from the University of Dhaka. Her research interests encompass critical interdisciplinary issues, including indigenous rights, women’s empowerment, masculinities, and gender-responsive approaches to climate change and agricultural adaptation.

Prior to her current role, Jannat contributed to several research projects on women’s empowerment, gender-based violence, sustainable development, entrepreneurship, and the dynamics of masculinities in the matrilineal Garo community. At ICCCAD, her work centers on climate-adaptive agriculture, with a strong focus on locally-led adaptation and capacity-building initiatives.
