INFLUENCERS, one of the winners of the ICCCAD Youth Innovation Fund 2024, has developed a magazine that brings together powerful stories and reflections from climate affected communities across Bangladesh. From river erosion victims in Bhola to families relocated to Dhaka’s informal settlements, the magazine captures how displacement reshapes lives, livelihoods, and identities. Prepared with support from the CAP RES project, this inaugural issue combines first-hand accounts, expert perspectives, and policy recommendations to explore the urgent need for safe housing, sustainable livelihoods, and inclusive urban planning.
The publication not only highlights the struggles of those living on the frontlines of climate change but also amplifies stories of resilience and innovation. It showcases practical adaptation strategies and community-driven solutions that connect local experiences with national and global policy agendas. Contributions from the INFLUENCERS youth team, insights from climate leaders, and narratives from affected individuals present a deeply human perspective on displacement and climate justice.
This first issue serves as a call to action for decision makers, development practitioners, and the wider public to address the structural causes of climate migration while ensuring solutions that are fair, inclusive, and sustainable.
